36. Australia

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is the military organization responsible for the defense of the Commonwealth of Australia and its national interests. It is divided into three segments the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), and many more units known as “tri-service” units. The ADF has a strength of just over 85,000 full-time personnel and active reservists and is supported by the Department of Defence and several other civilian agencies.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Australian Government made the armed services as separate organizations. Each service boasted of an independent chain of command. In 1976, the government made a sweeping change and built the ADF to place the services under the control of headquarters. Australia deploys a significant number of soldiers and artillery thanks to the support of the Australian government.
